MICHIGAN STATE COACH MARK DANTONIO and
MAC COMMISSIONER DR. JON STEINBRECHER
TO SPEAK AT LITTLE CAESARS PIZZA BOWL GOLF OUTING

DETROIT – Michigan State Football Coach Mark Dantonio will be a featured speaker at the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl’s annual golf outing on Monday July 25 at Lochmoor Country Club in Grosse Point Woods, just outside Detroit. Mid-American Conference Commissioner Dr. Jon Steinbrecher will also speak.

Dantonio, the 2010 Big Ten Coach of the Year, led Michigan State to a 11-2 overall record and a share of the Big Ten title in 2010. His Spartans defeated Rose Bowl pick Wisconsin, handing them their only defeat of the regular season. Prior to assuming the helm at MSU, Dantonio was head coach at the University of Cincinnati, defensive coordinator for the 2002 national championship team at Ohio State, and had served as Associate Head Coach at MSU in 2000.

MAC Commissioner Dr. Jon Steinbrecher will also address the gathering. Steinbrecher has been commissioner of the conference since 2009 and recently received a contract extension through the 2015-16 academic year. He has negotiated the addition of the University of Massachusetts as a football member of the MAC and acquired a three-year regional TV deal with SportsTime Ohio for both football and basketball.

"We are thrilled to have Big Ten Coach of the Year Mark Dantonio join us for this year’s golf outing dinner program,” said Little Caesars Pizza Bowl Chairman & Executive Director Ken Hoffman. “Coach Dantonio led the resurgence of Michigan State to the top of their conference and to national prominence this past year. I am sure that our attendees will benefit from hearing his insights about college football today and his winning philosophy."

“Dr. Steinbrecher continues to raise the bar for the Mid-American Conference,” added Hoffman. “His insights into the college football landscape and the national bowl scene will be of particular interest to our guests.”

The bowl’s golf outing will support the LCPB Stocking Stuffer Program for kids, which provides thousands of sponsored tickets to charitable organizations, school groups, community and civic organizations, and faith-based groups.

The LCPB Golf Outing will consist of:
  • 4-man scramble, w/ shotgun start at 1:00 p.m.
  • Driving range and practice putting green
  • Lunch and beverages on the course
  • A photo and autograph opportunity after dinner
  • Auction of very special items (silent and live)
  • Cocktail Reception & Dinner

Cost to attend the entire event will be $250 per person. Dinner-only tickets (w/speakers & auction) cost $100 per person.

The 2011 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl will mark the 15th year that the bowl has brought major college bowl action to Detroit.
